How it works
Assessment Methodology
How CertShield Practice builds, scores and safeguards every 30+ question diagnostic.
Two Ways to Practice
Every assessment offers a choice before you begin. Diagnostic Mode is the honest, evidence-based readiness check described on this page: you answer blind, then get a domain-level readiness signal. Study Mode is a lower-pressure alternative for learners who aren't ready to be tested cold — each question reveals its full explanation immediately after you attempt it, so you still get the retrieval-practice benefit of answering first, just without a score on the line. Study Mode never computes or shows a readiness band; it reports only what you covered and how accurate you were, so its output can never be mistaken for Diagnostic Mode's result. Everything below this section describes Diagnostic Mode specifically.
How Questions Are Created
Every question is original CertShield content, written from verified official certification blueprints and documentation, then peer-reviewed by subject-matter experts for answer accuracy, selection cardinality, and current product terminology before publication — no question ships on one person's judgment alone. Each assessment page shows a visible technical-validation date. Both modes draw from the exact same question set.
How Scoring Works
You can submit whenever you want — there's no requirement to finish every question first. Only questions you actually answered are scored: accuracy is correct ÷ attempted, never penalized by questions you left unanswered. A multi-answer question is correct only when your selected set exactly matches the correct set — extra or missing selections make it incorrect, the same as if you hadn't answered.
Alongside accuracy, your results also show coverage — how much of the question set you actually attempted. Coverage doesn't change your accuracy number, but it moderates how much confidence your readiness band claims: see below.
Readiness Bands (Diagnostic Mode only)
| Accuracy on attempted questions | Readiness signal |
|---|---|
| 85% and above | You're Exam Ready |
| 70–84% | You're Building Real Momentum |
| 55–69% | You're Developing |
| Below 55% | Foundation Building |
Coverage moderates the top two bands. If you've attempted fewer than half the questions, your result is capped at "You're Developing" even if your accuracy on those questions was excellent — high accuracy on a handful of questions is a promising early signal, not yet enough evidence to call you exam-ready. Answer more of the set to unlock the full range. A domain is labelled "Limited evidence" whenever you've attempted fewer than three of its questions.
Confidence Calibration
Marking your confidence as Sure, Unsure or Guessing never changes your accuracy. It classifies each answer as stable knowledge (correct + sure), fragile knowledge (correct + unsure/guessing), a likely misconception (incorrect + sure), or a knowledge gap (incorrect + unsure/guessing) — so you know not just what you missed, but how confidently you missed it.
Privacy
The diagnostic itself makes no network requests while you take it. Your answers, confidence ratings and progress are stored only in your browser's local storage, namespaced to this assessment, and are never transmitted anywhere — not to CertShield, not to any analytics tool. Clearing your browser storage clears your history.
Like most websites, pages on this site are measured with Google Analytics, which records standard traffic data — page views, referring sites, approximate location, device type — for every visitor. It has no access to your diagnostic answers, confidence ratings or results; those never leave local storage.
